Supportive Braces
What are Supportive Braces?
Orthotics is a scientific field specializing in the design, fabrication, fitting and supervised use of devices that provide support to weak or abnormal joints and muscle groups. Musculoskeletal disorders, joint weakness, back problems, or the inability of any joint or muscle group to function correctly can greatly decrease an individuals quality of life and mobility.
Congenital disorders, injuries, and degenerative diseases are just a few common causes for a patient to require corrective, assistive and supportive devices, such as orthotic shoe inserts.
How Does it Work?
When designed and fabricated by a professional, simple foot orthotics allow the muscles, tendons and bones of the feet and lower legs to function at their highest potential. When appropriately prescribed, orthotics can decrease pain in the foot, knee, hip and lower back.
What to Expect:
Computerized technology accurately and precisely measures foot pressures throughout the walking cycle. With orthotics, the feet are gently and consistently eased back into the corrective functioning position, helping to improve alignment and decrease pain and discomfort.
Conditions Treated:
- Extreme foot pronation (flat feet)
- Foot, knee, hip, leg, and back pain
- Congenital deformity
- Chronic conditions or degenerative diseases
