What is Chiropractic Therapy?
According to the American Chiropractic Association, Chiropractic Therapy is a natural form of health care that concentrates on treating musculoskeletal and neurological disorders, and the effects these disorders have on general health and well being.
How Does it Work?
Chiropractic therapy is a non-surgical, non-invasive treatment option, using the application of precise tools at the Chiropractic Doctor’s disposal – such as laser therapy, acupuncture, massage, computerized tables, physiotherapy, as well as chiropractic spinal adjustments – to correct misalignment, treat pain, and permit normal nerve transmission, assisting the body to recuperate.
What to Expect:
During your initial examination, Dr. Strong will test the strength and range of motion in your neck, back, arms and legs. He will test the strength of sensation in your hands and feet. This examination is hands-on and will help inform Dr. Strong of the physical properties at play that are contributing to your specific condition. In subsequent visits, you will have lots of opportunities to provide feedback and ask questions. Sessions typically last 45 – 60 minutes, sometimes a little longer. If your treatment plan and personal healing require you to come regularly for treatments, you may find that Dr. Strong recommends trying different techniques over time, to respond to your body’s recovery process.
