Massage Therapy
What is Massage Therapy?
Through the manipulation of soft tissues massage therapy can provide a moment of relaxation, reduce muscle tension and/or provide relief from chronic and/or acute pain. Massage increases blood flow to the area speeding up cell repair and decreasing inflammation.
During your massage the pressure, temperature and movement of the massage therapists hands is felt by our parasympathetic nervous system, this sensation makes our breathing slow down, our muscles relax and our heart rate decrease. The pressure felt by massage also brings about chemical changes in your brain releasing endorphins, these endorphins increase your mood and give you that feel good feeling.
Massage Therapy can be used to treat both acute and chronic conditions.
